Good deeds...random acts of kindness...gifts without strings...These are just a few phrases that name the selfless acts of the kindness and generosity of others, without expecting anything in return. The Monterey Vista Neighborhood Association would like to acknowledge these acts within our community. Please read on to learn how you can nominate and celebrate a “Good Neighbor”.

The Monterey Vista Neighborhood Association would like to acknowledge these acts within our community. Please read on to learn how you can nominate and celebrate a “Good Neighbor”.

Introduction

It is the goal of MVNA to Implement a neighborhood program that recognizes individuals who selflessly provide assistance, services, support, goods, etc. to others, within the Monterey Vista geographic area.

The goal of the program is to...

  • Acknowledge acts of generosity

  • Promote awareness of others

  • Build connections among neighbors

  • Promote civic pride & community involvement

Eligibility

An MVNA Good Neighbor Recognition Program Committee has been established to determine eligibility, review nominations, and manage the recognition process.

Eligibility criteria include...

  • Any individual residing within the geographic area of MVNA

  • Acts of generosity or kindness may include, but are not limited to the following: providing assistance, services, support, goods, etc.

  • May not include commercial enterprises nor forms of compensation

  • MVNA board members are ineligible

  • Recipients are limited to 1 award per year

Nomination Procedure

Nominations are encouraged and will be reviewed by the MVNA Good Neighbor Recognition Program Committee.

The steps for making a nomination are...

  • Any neighborhood member may make a nomination

  • Nominations may be made using a simple online form; or request a printed form

    from MVNA

  • Each resident is limited to 1 nomination per quarter

  • Nomination deadlines are: 3/1; 6/1; 9/1; 12/1

  • Any nomination submitted after the deadline will be included in the next selection cycle

Announcements

  • Announcement of recipients will be posted on e-blast; website; and annual picnic flier

  • Recipients will be notified by a committee member through phone or email

  • To honor an individual’s needs for privacy, the recipient will determine if the announcement is to be made publicly.
